Poll : Sexiest Woman of 2011 World Curling Championships

Roll up, roll up, and welcome along to the third running of Euro Women's legendary (kind of) annual poll to find the sexiest competitor of the world women's curling championships!  In a way, it's the fourth, because there was a special poll for the Olympic tournament last winter.  Our previous winners are Jennifer Jones of Canada (2009), Eve Muirhead of Scotland (2010) and Natalie Nicholson of the USA (2010 Olympics).  Of the three, only Muirhead is in the field for the 2011 worlds, and thus eligible for this poll.  Also likely to be in contention this time round are Danish skip Lene Nielsen, the Swedish trio of Cecilia Östlund, Sara Carlsson and Liselotta Lennartsson, Russian third Anna Sidorova, and the Norwegian skip Linn Githmark, who was once photographed nude for Ana Arce's famous series of curling calendars. Poll : Sexiest Woman of 2010 World Curling Championships

The 2010 women's world curling championships are now well under way in Swift Current, and once again we're asking you to vote for the sexiest competitor. The winner of the Olympic poll, the USA's Natalie Nicholson, isn't present this time. However, three of the top five from that poll are competing - Denmark's Camilla Jensen and Madeleine Dupont, and Scotland's Eve Muirhead. Also back into the fray is the winner of last year's world championship poll, home skip Jennifer Jones of Canada. Another strong contender this time round may be a woman who did not feature in either poll, Norwegian skip Linn Githmark - one of several of this week's competitors to have appeared nude in Ana Arce's famous series of calendars.

Poll : Sexiest Woman of the 2010 Olympic Curling Tournament

The Winter Olympics get underway today in Vancouver, but one gold medal will be decided right here over the coming two weeks. Last year an extraordinary 183 votes were cast in our poll that crowned Jennifer Jones of Canada as the sexiest woman of the world curling championships. So who will be her (kind of) successor in the Olympic curling tournament? This time, it really is down to you, because after all the complaints about my rather subjective shortlist last year (interestingly many of the comments related to the exclusion of Nicole Joraanstad!) I’ve decided to include every single competitor on this occasion, including alternates. I’m relying on Wikipedia for accuracy – could be risky! Here is the full list of contenders –

As ever, the women who have appeared nude in Ana Arce’s now-legendary curling calendars will be among the hot favourites for the crown. They include the aforementioned Nicole Joraanstad, Madeleine Dupont, Debbie McCormick and Camilla Jensen. Also in with a strong chance must be Carmen Schäfer and Eve Muirhead, who finished second and third respectively in last year’s poll.

To take account of the vastly expanded field this year, the rules have changed and you can vote for more than one favourite. So get voting!

The real battle of the Blue Peter babes

The latest edition of FHM features an article billing itself as the 'battle of Blue Peter' - ie. who is the sexiest, Zöe Salmon or Konnie Huq? There's a stunning pictorial of each contender to help you decide - the only snag is (as far as I can see) there's no such poll to vote in! I suppose the idea is you can vote for either one in the annual '100 Sexiest' poll. So anyway, I thought I'd step into the breach and offer you the chance to vote in a one-on-one, death or glory, Zöe v Konnie poll.

Curling poll update : with a few days left to vote, Norwegian skip Marianne Rørvik is leading. However, we've only had a tiny number of votes so far, so if we get a sudden flurry over the weekend things could change dramatically. Incidentally, I realise now that Russian alternate Margarita Fomina would have been an obvious contender, and I also forgot about American Nicole Joraanstad, who like her skip Debbie McCormick also posed nude for Ana Arce's Women of Curling calendar. So apologies for excluding them from the list, and any others you think should have been there!

With the 2009 world women's curling championships now well underway in South Korea, you can vote now for your choice as the sexiest competitor. Obviously to include all sixty players (including alternates) would have been a little unwieldy, so I've taken the liberty of picking out the leading contenders - a touch subjective, of course.
